Cuando el único titular que se le ocurre al Mundo para su primera página de hoy es éste quiere decir que todo el pescado está ya vendido. La mediocre actuación de Rajoy en el debate no le restará votos porque tiene asegurados los que ya eran suyos al comienzo de la campaña. Pero sus opciones de arañar sufragios con los que superar al PSOE parecen casi inexistentes.
Pero quizá no sea una bendición ganar estas elecciones. Eso es lo que sostiene el columnista del Financial Times Wolfgang Münchau, que hace un análisis demoledor del estado de la economía española.
The economic impact of this downturn in the housing cycle is going to be worse for Spain than for other countries. A truly staggering statistic about Spain is the fact that construction investment constitutes 18 per cent of the Spanish gross domestic product, according to the European Union’s Ameco database. In France and Germany, that proportion is about 10 per cent.When house prices fall, GDP will be hit in two ways: the first is the direct effect of a fall in construction investment, and the second is the indirect consumption effect, as people cannot extract new liquidity from their homes, which they could use for consumption spending. If the construction sector’s share of GDP were to shrink to 10 per cent gradually over a period of, say, four years, the direct effect on growth would be close to 2 percentage points per year.

Oye Glub, tradúceme eso de que "as people cannot extract new liquidity from their homes, which they could use for consumption spending". Es que yo lo entiendo como gente que compra televisores de plasma usando sus hipotecadas casas como garantía...

Otro que no entiende como funciona la economia española y sus bancos e hipotecas. Si el problema es que los españoles no van a poder sacar liquidez de sus casas porque no van a poder pedir una segunda hipoteca, estamos salvados. Eso nunca se ha hecho en España ni se puede hacer...
¿Por que no se documentarán un poquito antes de escribir sandeces?
